I work with farmers, foresters, and funders to design effective agroforestry systems.

With a decade of experience working to bring about food system change, I utilise my knowledge, skills and passion for agroecological farming to inspire others to imagine and build farm and food systems that nourish people and the planet.

Having lived and worked in Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, I am currently based in the UK where I work as an agroecological advisor with a focus on agroforestry.

Examples of recent projects:

The Agroforestry Show I am the event manager of the UK's first large scale event dedicated to agroforestry. Held at Eastbrook farm in Wiltshire, this event saw over 1250 farmers and foresters come together for two days of workshops, demonstrations, farm walks and design clinics. Find out more here.

The Agroforestry Living Textbook I designed and implemented a series of agroforestry field demonstrations at FarmED, the centre for farming and food education. Featuring over 10,000 trees planted in several schemes the demonstrations showcase silvoarable and silvopastoral coppice, fruit and vegetable alley cropping, shelterbelts, and an orchard grazed with sheep. You can find out more about this here.

Agroforestry Design Masterclass I am the lead facilitator on this innovative group learning process that empowers farmers and landowners

to design effective agroforestry systems from objective setting and system design all the way through to species selection and management. This workshop is currently run as a public event as well as a private event for The Woodland Trust.

Farm-Level Agroecology Criteria Tool I created ‘F-ACT’ as a decision-making tool for small-scale farmers in East Africa to assess farm

resilience. This tool was commissioned by Biovision Foundation for Ecological Development. This included field testing and the development of several case studies of agroecological farmers in Kenya with Trees for The Future and The Institute of Culture and Ecology.

Biofertilizer Training Materials I produced an illustrated technical manual and series of training videos and for Kenya-based social enterprise Sistema.bio to help them train the farmers they were working with to build soil health.
